The Village Board is the heart of Shelby’s local government, working together to serve the needs of our residents and ensure the continued growth and well-being of our community. Each member plays a vital role in shaping policies, overseeing village operations, and making decisions that impact daily life in Shelby.

  • Head Chairman - Presides over board, signs ordinances, figurehead

  • Vice Chairman - Acts as the chairman in their absence, possessing all the powers of the chairman.

  • Parks and Recreation - Oversees parks, recreational programs, and community events; helps plan improvements, maintain facilities, and enhance quality of life for residents.

  • Streets and Alleys - Oversees maintenance and improvement of roads, alleys, and public right-of-ways; helps address repairs, safety concerns, and infrastructure needs throughout the village.

Meet the Team

  • Deanna K Perry

    Village Clerk/Treasurer – Maintains official records, prepares meeting agendas and minutes, manages village finances, and handles billing, payments, and financial reporting while serving as a key point of contact for public information.

  • Anthony Benda

    Street Superintendent – Oversees maintenance and repair of village streets, alleys, and infrastructure; manages snow removal, equipment, and day-to-day public works operations.

  • Sophia Bergman-Ruvalcaba

    Social Media Coordinator – Manages the village’s social media presence, shares updates and announcements, and helps keep residents informed and engaged with community news and events.
